How Laxbutiken started...

Laxbutiken origins from fish farms that Christer and Margareta Lagnell started in the late 70s in Halland. Salmon roe was hatched and reared to 7-8 pound size, which at that time was considered unusual.

With their fish farm they could export Salmon to Europe as well as open a small Salmon Shop (Laxbutiken) with daily deliveries of fresh fish.

From a small delicatessen and lunch restaurant with 12 seats in Heberg, Laxbutiken today has grown into a 3500 square-meter facility with 600 seats.

A branch also opened in 2003 in Ljungskile, Bohuslän with the same concept.

Laxbutiken is a family owned business which since year 2000 is managed by the two brothers Jonas and Jerker Lagnell.
